Elaine Dempsey

Elaine Dempsey, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on December 29, 2024. Born on February 26, 1948, she embodied kindness and devotion throughout her life, touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Elaine was a dedicated medical receptionist, spending many years providing compassionate care and support to those in need. Her education began at St. Mary Magdalene in South Chicago and continued at Bowen High School, where she laid the foundation for a career characterized by service and commitment.

Outside of her professional life, Elaine had a deep love for gardening, finding joy in nurturing plants and watching them flourish. She was an avid reader, immersing herself in stories that sparked her imagination and curiosity. Above all, Elaine took pride in raising her children and grandchildren, with whom she created countless memories filled with laughter and love. Her heart warmed with joy when spending time with her grand puppies, who often brought a smile to her face.

Elaine is survived by her beloved sons: Kevin Dempsey, Jeff Dempsey, and Ryan Dempsey, along with their spouses, Jessica, Dominka, and Denise Dempsey. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Jameson, Charlotte, Mya, and Ella Dempsey. Elaine was also a treasured sister to Marilyn Zurawski and Janice Valuckis, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Bernice Wronka; her husband Jerry, her brother, John Wronka; and her brothers-in-law, Richard Zurawski and Paul F. Valuckis.

Elaine Dempsey leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love, forever etched in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for the light she brought into the lives of those around her.
