Peter J Seger

Peter J. Seger, Jr., age 70, of Oak Forest, Illinois, passed away at his home on February 14, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Peter J. Seger, Sr. and Margaret L. (Hanratty) Seger. He is survived by his loving cousins, Michael (Catherine) Hanratty of Hong Kong and Donna (Kale) Jackson of O’Fallon, Illinois.

Peter had a love for aeronautics and graduated from Parks College of St. Louis University. For many years, he worked as an airplane mechanic for Midway Airlines and held a private pilot’s license. He was a quiet, gentle man who was devoted to his family and friends. He lovingly cared for his mother until her death at age 104. Peter was an avid reader and could converse on a wide variety of topics. He was a faithful member of St. Damian Catholic Church where he also served on the Pro-Life Committee.

A visitation in Peter’s honor will be held on Monday, March 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home located at 15618 S. Cicero Avenue, Oak Forest, IL 60452. AFuneral mass will be held at St. Damian Catholic Church, 5250 155 th Street, Oak Forest,IL on Tuesday, March 18, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Orland Park, Illinois.
